About Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary

Welcome to Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary, where the spirit of discovery and innovation thrives. We are proud to be the Pasco School District's first science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) elementary school. Since our inception in August 2014, we have been dedicated to inspiring young minds and shaping future leaders in grades K through 5. Join us on a journey of exploration, curiosity, and excellence.

Honoring a Scientific Pioneer

Our school's namesake, Rosalind Franklin, was a pioneering crystallographer whose groundbreaking work played a pivotal role in unraveling the mysteries of life itself. Dr. Franklin's contributions were instrumental in the discovery of the double helix, the iconic structure of DNA. Her research extended to the fine molecular structures of DNA, RNA, and viruses, setting the stage for a new genetic age of exploration, disease treatment, and a deeper understanding of heredity in all living organisms.

Our Commitment to Excellence

At Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary, we are committed to fostering a lifelong passion for learning, cultivating innovative thinking, and nurturing the desire to make a positive impact on the global community. Our dedicated team of educators and support staff is at the heart of our mission, providing a rigorous and immersive STEM education.

We believe in the power of integrated, hands-on, minds-on learning experiences. In our classrooms, students apply the principles of mathematics and science to the world around them, gaining a deeper understanding of how these disciplines shape our lives. STEM education is more than just academics; it fosters fun with a purpose, hones reasoning skills, fuels curiosity, instills perseverance, and encourages inquisitiveness.
