School Counselor

Hello, and a warm welcome to Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary School! I'm Sabrina Persinger, your school counselor, and I'm here to provide guidance and support to both students and parents. My mission is to inspire and empower our young learners to be knowledgeable, responsible, healthy, and compassionate individuals. Together, let's embark on a journey to ensure success for your child.

What Does a School Counselor Do?

My Mission Statement: Relationships First

At Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary, we believe that strong relationships are the foundation for success. I am here to assist students in navigating life's challenges and opportunities by addressing the barriers that may hinder their ability to thrive in the classroom and in life.

Here's a glimpse of the services I offer:

Monthly Classroom Guidance Lessons

Throughout the school year, I conduct monthly classroom guidance lessons on a variety of important topics. These lessons cover areas such as bullying prevention, building self-esteem, managing stress, conflict resolution, developing emotional intelligence, fostering friendships, exploring future careers, nurturing 21st-century skills, embracing a growth mindset, and ensuring personal safety. These sessions are designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Individual Counseling

I provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students who may need support with personal, academic, or social issues. These sessions are a safe and confidential space where students can express their feelings, gain insights, and work towards solutions.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is an excellent way for students to connect with peers who may be experiencing similar challenges. I facilitate various group sessions, including social skills groups, time management groups, parent separation/divorce groups, grief groups, friendship groups, stress management groups, and self-control groups. These sessions encourage students to share experiences, learn from one another, and develop essential life skills in a supportive setting.

Community Resources and Referrals

Sometimes, students and families may require additional support beyond the school environment. I can provide information about local community resources and connect families with external services when needed. Together, we can ensure that your child receives the holistic support they require to succeed.
